When you use our website, personal data relating to you is collected. Such personal data may include information that is required to enable you to use our website, information necessary to take your preferences – such as your preferred language – into account, or information that you provide to us yourself via the contact options available on our website. We use your personal data to respond to your enquiries, process your orders, or provide you with access to specific information or offers. Naturally, we respect your decision if you do not wish to provide us with your personal data. Below, you will find information on how and for what purposes your personal data is collected and processed on this website. We inform you about “cookies” and the options available to you to accept or decline them. A detailed section explains the etracker tool used on this website, which we employ to continuously improve our website. The etracker section also contains information on how you may object to data collection via etracker. At the end of this Privacy Policy, you will find the contact details of our Data Protection Officer.
WHAT ARE “COOKIES”?
Cookies are files placed on your computer by a website while you are visiting it. These files store information that makes your use of the website more efficient.
WHAT DO WE USE COOKIES FOR?
In order for our content management system to provide you with all relevant information without errors, it partially uses cookies. We use cookies when you send us a message via one of our forms. The “captcha” function, where you are asked to enter numbers from a graphic to protect communication from spam, uses cookies. Otherwise, cookies are only stored when you log into our system, which requires applying for access authorisation from garmo AG. The cookies used by our content management system then store the username and the web pages you have visited. This information is not analysed by us at any time or for any purpose and serves solely to optimise the system. Cookies enable us, for example, to tailor a website to your interests. If you do not wish us to recognise your computer, please configure your internet browser to delete cookies from your hard drive or to warn you before a cookie is stored.
NEWSLETTER
You have the option of subscribing to the garmo AG newsletter via our website. For dispatch, we require your first name, surname and email address. You will only receive our newsletter after successfully completing a double opt-in procedure. You may review your consent at any time or unsubscribe from the newsletter. Appropriate links are included in every email accompanying our newsletter. In the event of unsubscribing, we will promptly delete your contact details from our newsletter distribution list. The legislator imposes certain requirements on the validity of electronic consent as used for newsletter subscriptions. This includes logging your declaration of consent. We therefore record the date and time of consent, the text of the consent declaration, whether the checkbox was selected, your email address, and your first name and surname. We also record the date and time of clicking the confirmation link and the link contained in the confirmation email. We collect and store this information exclusively to comply with the legal requirements for electronic consent (Section 28 (3a) Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)).
HOW IS PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTED?
We protect your data through regular internal controls. Even when we work with contractors to process orders and enquiries, we ensure through agreements and monitoring that they maintain an equally high level of data protection as we do.
WHAT SHOULD BE NOTED ABOUT LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES?
We may provide links to other sites outside the garmo AG websites. We endeavour only to link to sites that share the same values as we do. You should review the privacy principles of any site to which a link directs you in order to be informed about their practices regarding the collection of information, such as the use of cookies. We are not responsible for the content or the information collection practices of other companies’ websites. When visiting another site, you should review its privacy and other policies.
USE OF ETRACKER
We use the web analytics service etracker (etracker GmbH, Hamburg, Germany) on our website to statistically analyse the use of our online offering and to optimise it.

Processing is carried out on the basis of your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR or – where carried out without consent – on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You may object to data processing at any time with effect for the future. Further information can be found at: https://www.etracker.com/datenschutz/
